In particular, after 2008, the country has organized and implemented three major scientific and technological special projects in the field of electronics and information, focusing on the deployment of innovation chains throughout the industry, and providing focused support for key technologies in the core areas of integrated circuit design, equipment manufacturing, and complete sets of processes. Effectively improved the overall technological level of China's integrated circuit industry and the market competitiveness of related companies.

Regarding China’s specific progress in the field of integrated circuit chips, Wan Gang introduced that China’s supercomputers represented by Shen Wei and others have already developed their own CPUs, and their autonomous embedded CPUs have begun to be used in CNC machine tools and industrial equipment. Related technologies such as "TD-LTE/SCDMA" and independent mobile phone chips have begun commercial use and have occupied a certain share.

"But we must see processors and controllers, memory and other high-end chips of integrated circuits. At present, only a few companies in the world can produce and form a global market." Wan Gang explained that the reasons There are two main aspects. One is that China started late in this field, and the other is insufficient investment.

Wan Gang said that the State Council issued the outline of the development of the integrated circuit industry in 2014, clarified the direction, tasks and concrete measures for promoting the development of the integrated circuit industry in the future, and put forward clear requirements for science and technology.
